The most common question asked about the role of love in bringing me to faith, is, “Why do I need to bring love into my life?” This is a very important question and one that need to be answered. If we do not bring love into our lives, we cannot expect to be brought to faith.
It is easy to think that love is an emotion that will bring us to faith. What is not so easy to consider is how love can do that. Love does not have a reason for being. If it did, it would be a great thing and it would be an automatic emotion. When we say “I love you,” what we are really saying is, “I want to make sure that I am on the good side of God.”
It would be wonderful if we could bring love to all areas of our life and then be able to walk away from everything we have built for ourselves. When we build up things for ourselves that we do not have to go through the pain of losing those things. We want to be able to take joy in the fact that we are able to build up things for ourselves.
This is not the way it works. Our love is unconditional and we want to know why we are loved. We want love to mean more than the love that we receive. We want love to be an emotion that is available in abundance for when we are ready for it.
We want love to be a condition of life, rather than something that has to be worked for. We want love to bring us to faith. We want love to make a difference in everything we do.
We want love to be the emotion that makes a difference in our lives. We do not want love to be an emotion that just makes us feel better at any moment. We want love to make a difference in our lives and we want to make sure that love is the real thing.
We want love to be what gives us hope. We do not want to get caught up in the feelings of our heart and then feel despair when we have to make the hardest choice of our lives. We want to know that we can find joy and security when we need it.
We want love to be what makes us feel wanted. We do not want to have to settle for second best. We want to be treated with respect by everyone around us. We want to feel welcome and wanted. We want love to be treated with love and respect in every aspect of our lives.
We want to feel like we can trust this relationship. We want to know that our lives are not just ours to control but rather theirs to mold. We want to know that this person that we choose to love us will do the same for us. We want to be trusted with the things that are most precious to us. and we want our lives to be filled with love.
