EDITORIAL: Could 9/11 Have Been Prevented by STAR GATE?

In the intelligence community an item is considered to be actionable if information and analysis point to a clear path of action that may be taken to achieve a goal, such as preventing a terrorist attack.

When Starstream Research uncovered CIA STAR GATE files suggesting the 9/11events, we asked our intelligence contacts whether or not the previously classified reports should have been considered actionable information. We wanted to know if STAR GATE could have helped to prevent the 9/11 attacks, given better analysis of the information provided by Defense Intelligence Agency sources.

This all began at about 8:48 this morning. Again, what we know in case you are just joining us, a small plane, not a Cessna-type or five or six seater, but instead, perhaps a passenger flight ran into the north side of the World Trade Center.

The Sears Tower in Chicago has been evacuated and we continue to check on the circumstances there. The Pentagon, the State Department, and the White House have been evacuated in Washington as well. The president has -- we can show you now what happened just a few moments ago at the Trade Center. Watch the building to the left, to the back of those two building. This is just a few minutes ago. We don't know if something happened, another explosion, or if the building was so weakened it just collapsed.

From the STAR GATE files: Remote Viewer warning notice from the summer of 1986

CNN transcript from September 11th, 2001:For those viewers who are joining us, at about 10:20 Eastern Daylight Time -- let me just briefly recap -- attacks on two American cities: New York and the capitol, in Washington. It began at about 8:45 Eastern time, when a plane crashed into the World Trade Center. That building -- that was the building hit first -- and then about a half an hour later, a second plane -- and I a not sure if we have the tape available -- if we do, we will show it to you -- you can see the second plane coming in from the right side of your screen going into the tower itself. This is an extraordinary and troubling piece of tape.

The Justice Department is now being evacuated. The second attack on the Trade Center occurred about a half an hour or so after the first one. We have a report, CNN has been told, that an American Airlines 767 jet was hijacked out of Boston today. We don't know which of those two planes hit the tower the second time. Within the last 10 minutes or so, the south tower, or at least a portion of the south tower, has collapsed.

From the 9/11 Commission Report:

Newark: United 93. Between 7:03 and 7:39, Saeed al Ghamdi, Ahmed al Nami, Ahmad al Haznawi, and Ziad Jarrah checked in at the United Airlines ticket counter for Flight 93, going to Los Angeles. Two checked bags; two did not. Haznawi was selected by CAPPS. His checked bag was screened for explosives and then loaded on the plane.

Perhaps most significant, however, was the purchase of plane tickets for September 11. On August 23, Atta again flew to Newark, probably to meet with Hazmi and select flights. All 19 tickets were booked and purchased between August 25 and September 5.

After SSR removed references to the 1980's and other small incorrect details (blank areas corresponding to the expected 30 to 50 percent error factor in remote viewing) , the remaining CIA released warning strongly resembles circumstances surrounding the Sept. 11, 2001 hijacking of United Flight 93, piloted by Ziad Jarrah:

 


The response to our inquiry was that the DIA sources' information, although suggestive of many of the elements of the 9/11 attacks, was not specific enough to provide the kind of information required for actionable intelligence.

We pointed out several items that we felt had the potential of being actionable information. STAR GATE sources had warned on numerous occasions that airplanes would be used for suicide terrorist attacks. The earliest warning had been noted during an informal training session held in 1983. That session provided a name for the pilot that would attempt to fly a plane into the U.S. Capitol: a name that sounded like "Jerry, Gerard, or Geraldo," clearly suggestive of 9/11 Flight 93 terrorist pilot Ziad Jarrah.

Targets were also named in later DIA reports:

"New York City will be the target of an unexpected terrorist attack, by air and ground, of ... suicide-forces ... Washington will also be a target, simultaneously with the primary targets being the White House ... Pentagon ... Newspaper headlines have something to do with a collapse of a building -- a lot of people hurt or injured. I also sense a feeling of panic, people scrambling and perhaps something to do with an aircraft...I sense that the object may cause structural damage as it crashes through the building. All of this takes place sometime in the future."

The reader should take note of these specific items found in the STAR GATE files:

The method of attack: crashing aircraft into buildings.
The collapse of a building (presumably the twin towers of the World Trade Center).
A phonetic description of the name of one of the pilots: Ziad Jarrah.
The locations involved: New York City, Washington, D.C. and New Jersey.
Targets involved, including the U.S. Capitol, the White House, and the
Pentagon.

DIA sources provided warnings of the attacks in government documents produced during the 1980's, but clearly stated that the actual events would "take place sometime in the future."

As we approach the five year anniversary of the 9/11 events, we remain convinced that the above items are in fact actionable information that was badly misinterpreted and then discarded into the dust bin of history. If the above items had been reported as DIA-sourced intelligence on the front page of the Washington Post, on September 10, 2001, would the STAR GATE warnings of impending disaster have been so easily dismissed?

Actionable information with proper analysis leads to actionable intelligence. The STAR GATE files provide another example where failure to process actionable information leads to the most dreadful consequences.

CNN transcript:It was 1993 that I suspect many of these same firefighters converged on these very same towers after the bombing in the garage level. Help me with this. But I am pretty sure it was in the garage, right, when a Ryder truck came in and blew up in the garage. I am not sure if it was A Ryder truck, but a truck came in and blew up in the garage and that was in 1993.

UNIDENTIFIED CNN ANCHOR: That is one of the witnesses to this extraordinary. These extraordinary events this morning here in New York. Again, and I know that for many of you, you have heard this a lot. But I think it's important, as people join us, as they do, in moments like this. They are coming in all of the time, that there had been attacks in two American cities, New York and in Washington. The trade centers here in New York have been hit by airplanes. In Washington, there is a large fire at the Pentagon. The Pentagon has been evacuated. And there as you can see, perhaps the second tower, the front tower, the top portion of which is collapsing.

Good Lord. There are no words. You can see large pieces of the building falling. You can see the smoke rising. You can see a portion of this -- the side of the building now just being covered on the right side as I look at it, covered in smoke. This is just a horrific scene and a horrific moment.
